Buffalo Personal Injury Lawyer Explains What to do After Getting in an Accident

Buffalo Personal Injury Lawyer Explains What to do After Getting in an AccidentAs an experienced Buffalo Personal Injury Lawyer I am regularly asked what one should do after getting in a car accident.  Generally, the first thing that you do when you’re involved in an auto case is call 911 to summon the police to the scene in order to complete a report. The second thing you should do is take an assessment of what your injuries are. Normally paramedics will come to the scene and they’ll evaluate you. You want to make sure that you’re properly treated. If you need to, go to the hospital. If you don’t go to the hospital, go to an urgent care facility, or your own doctor, to have yourself checked out. Once you’ve filed your police accident report and have your injuries checked out, then what you’d want to do is contact a lawyer who has experience in this area to find out what your legal rights are. There’s no requirement to file a claim; there’s no requirement that you pursue it. One of the things you certainly should do is to make sure you consult with an attorney just to be advised of your legal rights.
