      WE HELP INJURY VICTIMS

Physical or mental abuse of our parents or relatives while in a nursing home is a crime that is many times overlooked because many senior citizens do not complain about being abused. They’re in the nursing home 24 hours a day and the biggest fear they have is retaliation by those that they accuse of abuse.  And the longer the abuse goes on, the more likely it will end with deadly results.

Steps to take after an injury

First, it’s very important to make sure you’ve documented exactly what happened with your accident or injury. The date, the time, the names and addresses of those involved, as well as details of what happened are critical components that you’ll need as you try to work through the problems you’re having. If you’ve been in a car accident, we already have a checklist you can use. You can see the checklist at our Car Accident Checklist page.

Secondly, you really should contact an Injury Attorney in Buffalo as soon as possible….because the other party’s Insurance Company is probably already working behind the scenes…and preparing to defend its client.

Contacting an accident attorney is really very simple – and for your case, it’s a Free Consultation. I’ll provide the accident and injury help you need by spending time reviewing the facts with you to be able to tell you what possible remedies you have and make suggestions on how to proceed.

When this abuse or neglect involves trained professionals who have a state license, you have the right to demand answers.

The nursing home industry operates at the lowest cost possible, meaning daily procedures are performed by employees that:

        • Have minimal qualifications
        • Are over-worked
        • Have inadequate training
        • Are paid low wages

These issues can often result in serious and even life-threatening problems for nursing home residents. Problems such as weight loss, failure to treat pressure sores, pain management, malnutrition, dehydration and even starvation go untreated or ignored.

But nursing homes are finally being held responsible after years of providing sub-standard care. A large number of lawsuits have been filed in the U.S in recent years. Nursing homes have had to provide compensation to the victims and their families – particularly when the abuse led to the death of a loved one.

If you have a family member residing in a nursing home and they have been abused, neglected or injured while in the care of a nursing home or other healthcare facility, contact our Attorneys to discuss what happened.

You and your family do have legal rights. Find out what options you have.
