Failure to Register or Verify as a Sex Offender

• Failure to register as a sex offender following a first charge is a Class E felony and it’s a Class D felony if it’s your second charge.
• You must register as a sex offender when you are sentenced.
• If you are being released from parole, a halfway house, or a correctional facility, you must register ten days before release.
