New York State Good Cause Eviction Law Notice

Download Form: Notice to Tenant of Inapplicability of the New York State Good Cause Eviction Law

About this Form

This form notifies your tenants whether their units, apartments, or homes are covered by the new Article 6-A of the Real Property Law, also known as the New York Good Cause Eviction Law (hereinafter “GCEL”).

If GCEL is applicable in your part of New York, this form should indicate the specific reason under the statute for not renewing tenants’ leases or terminating their tenancies.

Please note that even if GCEL does not apply, your tenants must still be provided with this form indicating the reason for inapplicability.    Your tenants may still have other rights under local, state, or federal laws concerning rents and evictions.

As a landlord, it is your responsibility to complete and provide this form to your tenants. However, please remember that this form does not constitute legal advice.
