Overview

The Surrogate’s Court hears cases relating to individuals who have passed away, including disagreements about wills and the proper way to manage or divide the estate (total assets and liabilities). Surrogate’s courts are also authorized to handle adoptions.

To help practitioners and estate representatives submit complete and accurate requests for a waiver of citation and avoid unnecessary delays, the Tax Department refreshed Form AU-67, Instructions for requesting a Waiver of Citation and Consent from the Tax Department. • presented in chart format the forms and supplemental documents required for each proceeding, so you may ensure your submissions are complete;
